Culinary Questions

After living and working in Tokyo for over 12 years during a 20 year period I have recently returned to Los Angeles and as I accilmate to my new surroundings I have some questions and observations. 

When people say they know about food because they eat a lot, shouldn’t they say they know more about digestion?

Do people know that Spicy Tuna Rolls and California Rolls aren’t considered sushi in Japan?

When did Chef’s in America start bragging about their tattoos more than their knife skills?

Are we told that farm animals are dumb to makes us feel better about mistreating them before they're kill?

What are hipsters?

Are there female hipsters?

Are they call hipster-ettes?

Why is kale so popular in LA?
